Ford Fusion: Looking Good in any Number of Coats

Just in time for Halloween, auto tuners and pimping shops have unveiled a bevy of Ford Fusions, each clad in a one-of-a-kind coat, at the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas.

The collection of super-modified Fusions shows that your basic family car does indeed have a racing beast eager to be released. One of the finest Fusions is the Ice Nine Group’s modification that has been fitted with a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder and a green Monster Energy-themed exterior. Ford is especially proud of the sparkly beige Tijin Edition Fusion that it says blends performance and luxury by being “modified with some of the best aftermarket parts available.”

Meanwhile, the Sport Touring Fusion by MRT Performance is most likely the most modified of all of the Fusions to be shown of the SEMA. It’s had a drag-race quality methanol injection unit dropped into it along with a whole collection of handling and chassis upgrades. And, of course, it looks like a real race car.

Due to the recession, cash for clunkers, and the Japanese earthquake and subsequent tsunami removing a good number of previously-owned cars from the market, demand continues to outpace supply. However, that does not mean that a seller can afford to simply put a…Continue Reading

Looser Credit Drives Increase In Auto Sales

At the height, or depth depending on your perspective, of the financial crisis, it became pretty difficult for the average consumer to get a car loan. ‘The credit markets froze up like the aluminum engine block of a ’74 Vega,’ according to James Appleton, president of the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers. Luckily, there…Continue Reading
